The Alewife Brook area is where prehistory and today’s urban wilds meet next to a large residential enclave. In this vicinity, archaeological evidence indicates probable continuous human habitation over thousands of years. Today, you may explore the wilds at the edge of the Brook or the Mystic River. The area is a great place to: canoe; kayak; hike; run; swim; or play tennis, baseball, basketball, or soccer. Coming soon is totally new George Dilboy Stadium. Once served by commuter rail near Boston Avenue, the area is in the existing transit right of way of the proposed new Green Line extension. © 2006
