Bob Arnold, New Group Member
arnoldBob helps businesses and individuals with their insurance needs, through National Independent Agencies of Norwell, MA.  This includes health, life, home, auto, business property and liability, with access to over 200 insurance carriers.  Bob is also on the Board of Managers of the Somerville industrial real estate holdings company, JWF [Ames Business Park].   Bob was employed by Ames Safety Envelope Company for over thirty three years in various sales positions, from sales representative to Vice President Business Development.  He was part of the Ames Color-File Division of Ames, which innovated the use of color coding for the medical industry.  Ames supplied 40% of the color-coded medical record folders and x-ray jackets to the American hospitals.   Prior to working with Ames, Bob was Sales Supervisor of Snow Crest Finer Foods, of Salem, MA.  Snow Crest was the leading supplier of ice cream toppings and cake decorations in New England. Bob has a BS degree in marketing, from the Carroll School of Management at Boston College, class of 1974.
Thomas P. Bent, Government Affairs Committee Chair, Past Board Chair
14bentTom is the owner/president of the full service IBEW Local 103 shop serving greater Boston’s leading commercial, industrial, educational, and healthcare institutions. He is a member of the: Associated General Contractors of Massachusetts; National Electrical Contractors Association; National Fire Protection Agency; and Illuminating Engineering Society of North America. He is the: Somerville representative to the Metropolitan Planning Organization; Somerville Vocational High School Advisory Board Chair; St. Catherine’s Church Restoration Committee Chair; City of Somerville’s Municipal Compensation Board Chair: Municipal Property Review Committee Chair; and a former Cambridge Health Alliance Joint Hospital Board Director and Somerville Housing Authority Board of Commissioners Chair.  Tom received the 2013 John W. Fitzgerald Lifetime Achievement Award.  A youth hockey and soccer team sponsor, Tom and his wife Roseanne live in Somerville in a National Historic Register home. Their two daughters are graduates of Harvard, Tufts and Georgetown.

Jennifer Blundell
 15blundellFollowing more than 20 years in banking and finance and more than a decade advising public and private institutions on mergers, acquisitions, dispositions and ownership restructurings, Jennifer is currently a consultant to an early stage developer of large-scale energy transmission and microgrid infrastructure projects. Prior to this was a co-founder of Colchester Partners, a Boston-based investment bank and prior to that she worked in the corporate development group of United Asset Management (UAM), a publicly-traded investment management holding company. She began her career at State Street Bank where she held a variety of roles and supported the development of Private Edge, the bank’s private market investment analytics service.  Jennifer is co-chair of the Union Square Civic Advisory Committee (CAC), a group comprised of residents, community leaders and business owners which acts as a public sounding board for the redevelopment of Union Square. She is an adjunct member of the CFA Institute and Boston Security Analysts Society and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, a non-profit, non-political organization dedicated to education and preserving American history. She holds a BA in Economics from Ohio University and an MBA from Boston University.  A lifelong resident of the Boston area she has made Somerville her home since 2004.
Ronald Bonney, Past Board Chair

Ron serves on the Board of directors for the Somerville Chamber of Commerce, SomerPromise Trust, Bunker Hill Community College Foundation, Massachusetts Selects Hockey League, as well as the School Councils for the Argenziano School and the Advisory Board of the Somerville High School Vocational Program and as a Commissioner of the Somerville Housing Authority. Locally Ron has served on the Somerville Financial Advisory Committee, Parking Solutions Task Force, Somerville Visioning Committee and Somerville Jobs Advisory Committee, he is also a Little League and Youth Hockey Coach, and a Hockey Coach for the Boston Stars. Ron served in the US Army and Army Reserve and attended Boston College. He resides in Somerville with his wife Dr. Iwona Bonney and their two sons.

Jessica Brayden
braydenJessica’s career has focused on program development and stabilization and she has distinguished herself through creative change management and strategic programmatic enhancement. Currently serving as Executive Director of RESPOND, New England’s first domestic violence agency, she oversees all aspects of programs and management to ensure efficiency, fiscal and service accountability, and the organization’s creative and innovative growth. Prior to RESPOND, she served as the Director of Programs and Operations for Morgan Memorial Goodwill Industries, Inc. in Salem, Massachusetts. Additionally, she has held leadership positions at Family Continuity Program in Lawrence, Massachusetts, including Director of Administrative Operations, Director of Human Resources, and Program Director. Ms. Brayden holds a B.S. in Criminal Justice from Salem State College and a Masters of Business Administration from Endicott College.
Richard Brenner, Golf Committee Chair
brennerRichard has been a Vice President of Commercial Lending at Winter Hill Bank for over four years.  Winter Hill Bank is a Somerville based mutual savings bank with assets just under $300 Million.  They are a leader in community and service, with three branches; two located in Somerville and one in North Reading.  Richard has over 25 years of experience in lending to a variety of small and midsized businesses and has worked for a variety of large and local banks.  He has been a Somerville Chamber Board member for over nine years, was a past chair of the Davis Square Business Interest Group, the current chair of the Golf Classic Committee and is a volunteer on many of the Chamber fundraising events.
Ryan W. Burkart

Previously, Ryan worked in many aspects of hotel operations, where he was responsible for overseeing budgets, revenue growth and guest satisfaction. Ryan’s experience includes serving as the General Manager for a series of well-known hotel brands, under the Intercontinental Hotel Group umbrella, including Hotel Indigo and Holiday Inn Express. Ryan first joined the Distinctive Hospitality Group family as Director of Operations for the Holiday Inn Boston-Bunker Hill and The VERVE – Crowne Plaza Natick. Pat Cain, Assistant Treasurer, IT Committee Chair
14cainPatrick Cain is the President of The Cooper-Cain Group, a Boston, Massachusetts, USA-based Internet security consultancy that provides auditing, risk assessments, technical assistance, policy authoring, and incident response guidance to Universities, ISPs, financial institutions, and other medium and large organizations.  Pat has been involved in information security development and operations for over 30 years and is also a Resident Research Fellow of the Anti-Phishing Working Group (APWG), an international organization working to reduce online fraud and crime. He drives the APWG’s data collection and sharing initiatives which has led to participation in many international crime data-sharing initiatives, service on a United Nations identity-related crimes expert panel, the authoring of international technical standards, and continuous travel. He is a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), a Certified Information System Manager (CISM), a member of the International Association of Privacy Professions, an associate member of the American Bar Association, and, more importantly, an officer of the Somerville Garden Club.
Lou Carrier
15carrierLou is President of Distinctive Hospitality Group (DHG) which owns and manages hotels and restaurants. This includes the Holiday Inn in Somerville. This hotel, acquired by DHG in the spring of 2010, underwent a multi-million dollar renovation in 2012/2013 and was awarded Intercontinental Hotels Group’s, Best Design/Best Renovation Award in 2014. It is also the highest rated Holiday Inn in the New England states.   Prior to forming  DHG in 2010, he was Chief Operating Officer  the AAA Four Diamond theWit hotel brand in Chicago, IL, where he  led all branding initiatives, sales and marketing strategies and defined the organizational structure of this acclaimed hotel.   Lou was also responsible for creating the restaurant,  BOKX 109 American Prime in Newton, MA, which debuted in 2008. The restaurant has won numerous awards and accolades and remains one of the highest grossing restaurants in the Boston suburbs.  Lou spent nearly eight years in senior developmental and organizational leadership roles creating the upscale Hard Rock Hotel brand in Orlando, San Diego and then as Executive Vice President in Las Vegas establishing the brand’s culture, food and beverage concepts, service standards, and marketing initiatives.   Additionally, he spent a total of 8 years in senior management roles with Loews Hotels in Washington, DC and Florida. Carrier’s career began with Stouffer Hotels and Renaissance Hotels at their flagship property, the AAA Five Diamond Mayflower Hotel in Washington, DC.  Lou’s desire for DHG is to build a portfolio of 20 unique hotels along the East Coast over the next five years with an eye toward additional developments in Somerville.
Mary Cassesso
cassessoMary is President of the CHA Foundation and Chief Community Officer for Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA), a vital and innovative community health system that serves Somerville, Cambridge, and Boston’s metro-north communities. Mary’s role at CHA is to build and strengthen the CHA Foundation, the health system’s principal fundraising entity, as well as to work collaboratively with the communities it serves to establish and sustain critical and innovative population health efforts. She plays a key role in implementing organizational strategic planning initiatives and oversees CHA’s Community Health Improvement Department, which provides a wide range of programs that reduce health disparities, promote wellness, and improve the lives of local residents. Mary has more than 25 years of executive experience in state and municipal government and higher education having most recently served as assistant secretary of administration and finance in the Massachusetts Executive Office of Health and Human Services, and dean of administration and finance at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine.   She is a lifelong Somerville resident and has devoted a lifetime of commitment to community and public service. She is active in numerous civic and charitable organizations and serves as chair of the Somerville Affordable Housing Trust Fund. She served for 10 years on CHA’s Board of Trustees and as its chair for four. She is a former chair of the Joint Committee on the Status of Women at Harvard Medical School (HMS) as well as a recipient of its Leadership Award, and she is also a past recipient HMS’s Diversity Award. Ms. Cassesso holds both a master’s degree in public administration and a bachelor’s degree from Northeastern University.
Adam Dash, Past Board Chair
14dashAdam is the principal attorney at the Davis Square law firm where he is in general practice, predominately in the areas of small business law, residential and commercial real estate law, divorce, zoning and permitting. He is a member of the Massachusetts and Middlesex County Bar Association. A recipient of the Somerville Community Corporation’s Hazel Hughes Award for distinguished community service, Adam is a past president of the Somerville Homeless Coalition and a member of the Davis Square Task Force. He has taught and lectured throughout greater Boston. Adam holds B.A. degrees in Economics and in Fine Arts from Brandeis and a J.D. degree from George Washington. He lives in Somerville with his wife and 2 daughters.
Befekadu Defar
Mr. D. is the owner and manager of Fasika Ethiopian restaurant in East Somerville.  He migrated from Ethiopia with the family in the early 90’s.   He first started as cook and then.  Tried to get in to business and started a commercial cleaning company and Taxi company. Later on, he managed to open his own restaurant — first in 2001 in Jamaica plain and second in 2003 in Somerville.   Mr. D. is a member of East Somerville Main Street.   He graduated in culinary art from CTTI in Ethiopia and diploma in Hotel management ITTH in Switzerland.   He is a father of four and a grand father of three.
Mike Dolan
dolanMike is the Vice President of Business Development at Velir, an agency that specializes in digital marketing solutions for enterprise organizations across the United States.  Mike’s career includes positions in the Boston area at Morgan Stanley, Fidelity, Eaton Vance, and Lewtan Technologies, in addition to multiple start-ups that he initiated.  He currently oversees sales and marketing at Velir and helped grow the company from 35 to 130 employees in 4 years at their offices in Davis Square, while increasing revenues by over 300%.  Velir was selected by the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce as their 2013 Small Business of the Year.  Velir was also listed on the Inc 5000 fastest growing companies three years in a row – and the only company to make the list from Somerville, MA in 2014.  Mike holds a B.A. in Economics from the State University of New York at Geneseo with a minor in Computer Applications.  Mike is an avid lacrosse fan and was a 4-time NCAA midfielder voted to 1st team all-league in the ECAC.
Matt Ehrie, Assembly Square Business Group Chair
15ehrie2Matt is Vice President and General Manager of Assembly Row.  He brings more than 20 years of retail and asset management experience to Somerville’s newest neighborhood.   For 15 years, Matt worked for Westfield Corporation, LLC, one of the world’s leading shopping center companies. He grew within the company from General Manager of Westfield’s concession program at Reagan National Airport in Washington D.C. to his most recent role as Vice-President and General Manager of Westfield Valley Fair in San Jose California. His primary responsibility at Valley Fair was leading the day-to-day operations for one of the most profitable shopping centers on the West Coast. During his tenure with Westfield, Ehrie also directed the center management for the Southeast and Northwest Regions and managed Garden State Plaza in Paramus, NJ.   Matt began his professional career with the J.C. Penny Company in the Jacksonville, Florida market and held various Management and Merchandising roles with the Department Store chain.  He then transitioned to Arnold Palmer Golf Management to be the Director of Retail Management for the company’s 40 on-course golf shops. He was responsible for buying and planning all the merchandise, training each store’s employees, and monitoring and controlling the inventory for each of the stores. While employed with Arnold Palmer, Matt also directed Harbor Links Golf Course, a high-end daily fee golf course located in Port Washington New York.
Kevin J. Gatlin
gatlinKevin is Vice-President, Commercial Lending at Winter Hill Bank. He previously served as the Managing Trustee of Somerville’s Affordable Housing Trust Fund; Director, Somerville Community Corporation and has served on the Mayor’s Task Force for Housing & Homelessness. Kevin received his M.S. in Economic Policy & Planning from Northeastern University and is a graduate of the National School of Banking – America’s Community Bankers at Fairfield University. He lives in Framingham with his wife Barbara and three children – Timothy, Natalie & Benjamin.
Ben Holmes
15holmes Ben created Aeronaut With cofounders Daniel Rassi and Ronn Friedlander as an NSF fellow departing from genomics PhD research at MIT / CSAIL and the Broad Institute. He has taught physics at the Weill Cornell Medical school in the Qatar, researched planetary atmospheres at NASA Goddard in Manhattan, and calibrated Mars rover optics at Cornell University. At Aeronaut, Ben aims to brew beer as a means to create a Somerville venture fund & incubator powering businesses development in microbiology and foods manufacturing.
Don Hughes, Nominations & Awards Committee Chair
Don is the Vice-President of Community Living Services at Riverside Community Care, where he has worked in a variety of capacities for over 30 years. In his current role, Don oversees a broad range of clinical, rehabilitative, employment and housing supports for adults with mental illness.  Riverside is a non-profit health and human services organization serving over 40,000 Massachusetts residents annually through 100 programs in 70 communities across the Commonwealth providing quality mental healthcare, developmental disability and brain injury services, early childhood programs, trauma response, and substance abuse treatment. Through its mergers with The Guidance Center and Somerville Mental Health, Riverside provides a continuum of adult, child and family services in Somerville including counseling, case management, medication services, day treatment, substance abuse services, Early Head Start, early intervention services, in home therapy, and a host of school based services in most of the Somerville schools. Riverside has approximately 1400 employees, with over 200 working in Somerville.   Don, a licensed Social Worker, is a graduate of Boston University’s Masters in Social Work program. Don resides in Somerville with his wife and his youngest son, a student at Somerville High School.
Dana Iacopucci, Business After Hours Series Chair
   14iacopucciDana works in Residential and Commercial sales for Cubby Oil Company in Somerville for the past three years. He is also involved in marketing for the company and recently organized a large trade show in South Boston. He has been involved in the Business After Hours events for the Chamber which Cubby has sponsored. For the last few years, Dana along with Cubby Oil has taken part in the Somerville Memorial Day parade. He has been an active member of East Somerville Main Streets for the last few years involved in events such as; Holiday lights, First Tuesday’s and Movie Nights. Dana resides in East Somerville with his wife, living in his 3rd generation family home.
Brian R. Iammartino, CFA
iammartinoBrian is Co-Founder and Managing Partner of btcRE, a niche real estate investment firm targeting the redevelopment of underutilized, mid-sized commercial real estate assets in the inner-core peripheral markets of Boston.  In Somerville, btcRE has rehabilitated and leased 35-37 Medford Street, a brick-and-beam, former industrial building, to a diverse roster of computer hardware, software, biotech, creative design, and non-profit users.  Prior to founding btcRE, Brian held positions in commercial real estate at Westport Point Capital, financial services at The Blackstone Group, and the non-profit industry at TeachersCount.  Brian complements his role at btcRE with guest-lecturing at Harvard University on public finance and policy topics, he is active in industry associations like the ULI and REFA, and he is a proud volunteer for organizations like the YWCA Boston.  Brian is a graduate of The Wharton School and the Harvard Kennedy School, and he holds the CFA designation.
Greg Karczewski
15karczewskiGreg has over 18 years of experience in the real estate industry as a developer, consultant and educator. He is passionate about urban real estate investment and development and its crucial role in the creation of great cities.   In roles with Mesirow Financial and Hines, Greg’s responsibilities included deal sourcing, underwriting, planning, financing and executing large-scale mixed-use, residential and office opportunistic investments. He also has demonstrated expertise in management of cross-functional teams, strategic planning, analysis, and investor relations. Greg’s perspective is shaped, in part, by his recent Fellowship at World Business Chicago that focused on tackling economic development challenges.   Greg is also an adjunct professor at Notre Dame where he teaches a real estate course that he developed to undergraduates and MBAs. He earned a MBA from Kellogg and a BS in Civil Engineering from Notre Dame.
Arnold J. Knox, Jr., Chair President & CEO Emeritus, Past Board Chair
Bud brings over 50 years of experience as a resident and business owner. He is a former: Somerville Hospital trustee; Somerset Bank director; Greater Boston Family Services Treasurer; and Somerville Public Safety Commission Member. Bud is the: Somerville Home Treasurer and past president; Somerville YMCA Treasurer; a Somerville Kiwanis Treasurer; and a Reading Art Association Director. A U.S. Navy Veteran, he is a Bentley College grad. After many years of outstanding service during which he served as Chamber Chair, Clerk, or Staff, Bud’s contributions to the Chamber and Somerville were acknowledged with the Chamber’s first honorary title.

Matthew Martino
Matt is a 4th generation Somerville resident with deep ties to East Somerville where he has served as a Board member on East Somerville Main Streets.  His work here helped establish Somerstreets Carnivale and The Foodie Crawl as major annual events enjoyed by thousands.  His company SVG Productions creates unique artistic projects including live events and video productions.  He is known for creating the largest Halloween event in the Boston area right in Somerville’s Arts at the Armory building – The Armory of Horror.  He recently released his second feature length motion picture Chainsaw Maidens which also had a beer named in it’s honor by Slumbrew – the Somerville Brewing Company.
Sandra L. McGoldrick, Past Board Chair, Davis Square Group Chair

McGoldrick is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Winter Hill Bank, an independent Massachusetts federally-chartered mutual community bank incorporated in 1906 with its Corporate Headquarters located in Somerville.  Prior to becoming President and Chief Executive Officer, Sandra served as the bank’s President and Executive Vice President overseeing the financial and operations of the Bank until she was elected President/CEO in 1992. While successfully leading the Bank through the many challenges of the mid-nineties through today, Sandra has served on a host of executive boards, boards of directors and advisory committees including the Massachusetts Bankers Association, the Community Bank League of New England and the Boston Chapter of the Financial Managers Society. Nationally, Sandra is the Chairperson of the Pentegra Defined Contribution Plan and is a Committee Member of Pentegra Services, Inc.   Sandra is also an active member of the Somerville business community and has held positions that include Chairperson and President, serving on a variety of municipal advisory boards, business, civic and non-profit groups and organizations. She has been recognized for her commitment to the community by receiving the prestigious National Athena Award, and locally by receiving the Somerville Chamber of Commerce’s Lifetime Achievement Award and the Chamber’s Powderhouse Award for Distinguished Service. She was also the recipient of the Homefirst Charitable Corporation as one of the City’s most outstanding citizens for her contributions to the community and to non-profit organizations. Sandra holds a B.S. degree in Business Administration from Northeaster University.
Charles J. McKenzie, Innerbelt Business Group Chair and New Group Member
15mckenzieCharlie has over 20 years of commercial real estate experience as the Chief Financial Officer for Hamlen & Company. Charlie is an Owner and Treasurer of Northmoor LTD. Construction Company, Inc. and Premier Worldwide Travel LLC. He has served as past executive board member of the Somerville City Club. Also he served as the Club’s Treasurer and Secretary. He is a former Long Range Planning Committee member for the Boys & Girls Club of Middlesex County. Current and past member of the City of Somerville’s Municipal Property Review Committee.  Charlie has served as Chair of the Chamber’s Innerbelt Business Group and has represented Hamlen & Company and the Innerbelt Industrial Center on the Chamber’s New Group.  Charlie is an avid golfer and ardent supporter of Boys & Girls Clubs. He is a Graduate of the University of Massachusetts.
Tom Modica
Tom is General Manager of Winebow Boston which is a member of the Winebow Group, a national import and distribution company of fine wine and spirits with distribution companies in 17 states and import business in all 50 states.   Tom has been in the wholesale wine business for 25 years.  He was Vice President and Director of Sales for Ruby Wines and Atlantic Importing.  He is a lifelong resident of Medford.   Tom holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a Hospitality Focus from the University of New Hampshire.
Andrea Morton, Green Committee Chair
14morton3 Andrea is the founder of aMortonDesign, an Architecture firm with projects throughout New England and in New York City. She strives to create projects which offer innovative contextual solutions with a focus on sustainable design. Her project experience spans a variety of use and construction types including homes, restaurants, academic departments, offices, and a museum. After-work activities include volunteering as a cook and team leader for Somerville’s own Community Cooks, racing in triathlons, surfing, and a weekly pool game with her brother. Andrea is a transplanted Mid-Westerner who has been a Somerville resident since 1996, moving to the area after receiving her architecture degree from Cornell University.

John has been in banking for 15 years in the City of Somerville. He is currently Assistant Branch Manager and Branch Operations and Compliance Liaison for Century Bank in Somerville, a full service commercial bank with 22 branches in the surrounding communities. Century Bank was founded in 1969 and established its first office in Somerville and specializes in small business lending and services. John has resided in Somerville for the past 32 years and is currently on the Executive Board of Directors for Society of Anzano an Italian-American non-profit organization in Somerville. Emily Reichert, Ph.D.

She focuses on initiatives that increase its impact on clean and energy efficient technology commercialization and deployment. Emily aims to leverage the local community of entrepreneurs, investors, universities, and government agencies working to build our clean energy future by pursuing strategic partnerships and spearheading initiatives that encourage collaboration, innovation and investment.  Prior to Greentown Labs, Emily was the Director of Business Operations at the Warner Babcock Institute for Green Chemistry. She has more than fifteen years of experience serving in R&D, business development and operational leadership roles. Emily holds a PhD in physical chemistry and earned her MBA from MIT.
Mernaysa Rivera Bujosa, Clerk, Co-host “Talking Business”
14bujosaOriginally from San Juan, Puerto Rico, and fluent in Spanish and French, Attorney Mernaysa Rivera is licensed to practice in NH and MA. She attended the New England School of Law from 2002 – 2005, and served as a Senior Literary Editor to the New England Journal of Civil and Criminal Confinement. Following law school, she continued to work at the firm through end October 2010, where she won extensive experience as first or second chair to the firm’s litigation practice, and as real estate conveyancer or title insurer. At present, Mernaysa’s primary areas of practice are civil litigation and real estate law, including contract, business, real estate, collections, UCC, fraud, construction, consumer protection, negligence and eviction representation. She is also a title insurance agent, representing clients in the leasing, sale, and financing of real estate. She is a Co-Host of the City of Somerville, Chamber of Commerce’s, “Talking Business,” a City Cable television series, and a Board Member of the Somerville Chamber of Commerce, Somerville Community Action Television, and the Community Action Agency of Somerville. She is a graduate of Tufts University 2002 and New England School of Law 2005 with extensive experience in government and community involvements. In fact, Mernaysa was Massachusetts Youngest Delegate at the 2004 Democratic National Convention.
Barbara Rubel, New Group Chair
 15rubel4 Barbara is the University’s Director of the Office of Community Relations. She has represented Tufts to Somerville, Medford and Chinatown for more than thirty years. She acts as the liaison to local government, agencies and organizations in this capacity addressing community concerns and building partnerships between the university and its communities. She is also responsible for neighborhood relations on the Medford/Somerville campus. She has served on the boards of many Somerville youth, senior, and cultural organizations. She currently serves the Community Action Agency of Somerville and SCM Transportation, Inc. as vice president of the respective boards. She is a co-founder and board member of Groundworks Somerville. She has reviewed Community Development Block Grant proposals for the city, served on the advisory board of the vocational high school and assisted with several searches in the school department. Barbara has degrees from Carnegie Mellon University, the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and Tufts. Barbara received the Chamber’s 2004 Powderhouse Award to Tufts University for Excellence in Economic Development and the 2015 John W. Fitzgerald Lifetime Achievement Award.

Sean Selby, AIA, LEED AP
14selbySean is an Associate with Arrowstreet, an award-winning design firm which works as far away as Brazil and Europe and as close as Davis Square. His work has won design and sustainability awards, and he is a frequent writer and speaker on green architecture. He is a believer in community, having grown up in a large family in a small town in Kentucky. For over ten years, he has lived in Ball Square with his wife and son, and walks to his office in Davis Square as often as he can. He believes that true sustainability is not only energy-efficient design, but an active involvement in local community and support of local businesses. Sean is a Registered Architect in Massachusetts and Pennsylvania, and earned a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Kentucky, and a Master of Architecture from Cornell University.
Daniel Skeritt
skerittDaniel is a founding member and co-owner of Pinctada Events, Inc. a certified event consulting and management business, based in Somerville.   He has over 30 years of civic service and is a highly motivated and experienced manager with leadership and diverse experience in project management.  Working within the non-profit faith-based community he has been active in social service initiatives and civic engagement particularly with seniors, youth and groups with diverse backgrounds.  For over 20 years he was the facilities manager at Community Therapetuic Day School, and has made an effective impact particularly as a community organizer.  He has been a board member of Breakthrough Greater Boston (formerly Summerbridge), local liaison for men’s health community/City of Cambridge initiative, and Board of Stewards, St. Paul AME Church, Cambridge where he also served as Men’s Leader, Children/Youth supervisor and security director.  Currently, he is Vice President/Treasurer on the board of Our Golden Years Inc. serving the needs of local seniors community.   He serves as the Affirmative Action Officer for the Everett Democratic City Committee.  The devoted father of Danny, Mercedes and Crystal, Daniel lives in Everett with his family.
Paula Vancini, Treasurer
14vanciniPaula is the founder of Vancini Accounting a local boutique practice specializing in small and emerging firms, as well as individuals.  A personalized custom approach is taken with each and every client.  Services include general accounting, bookkeeping, tax preparation, accounting system installations and setup, assistance with records organization, and financial and business process consulting.  Paula received her undergraduate degree in business administration from Suffolk University in Boston and did her graduate work in accounting at Bentley University.  As an initial member of several high tech startups, she has brought organizations from operations-in-the-garage to successful business entities. She is one of the founding partners of a global international employee search and consulting firm, and has been active in various professional groups in the Boston area.  Paula brings a wealth of experience and holds the professional designations of: Certified Management Accountant,  a Registered Tax Return Preparer as designated by the IRS, Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor, Notary Public.

Lawrence P. Venezia, Business Edge Series Chair

Larry is a First Vice President and Lending Center Manager of Commercial Lending at Rockland Trust. In this role, he is responsible for Commercial and Industrial Lending for Somerville, Cambridge, Medford and Everett, as well as the Braintree area. In addition, Larry is responsible for new business development on the South Shore and parts of Cape Cod. With more than 41 years of banking and lending experience, Larry provides clients with a depth of commercial banking knowledge and commitment to exemplary customer service. Prior to joining Rockland Trust, he was Senior Vice President with Sovereign/Santander. During his career he also held senior commercial lending roles with Citizens Bank, Plymouth Savings, and Bank of Braintree. Larry is active in the community, serving on the Board of Directors of the Somerville Chamber of Commerce, its Executive Committee and its Chairperson of the Membership Committee. Larry is also an active Board Member of Groundwork Somerville. He received a Bachelor’s degree from Bridgewater State College. Larry resides in Carver, Massachusetts. 
Lindsay Venza
 Lindsay is the Assistant Vice President, Senior Branch Manager of Cambridge Savings Bank.  She has over 10 years of community banking experience where she served as an active member in local chambers and on various town committees. In addition to overseeing branch operations, she focuses on developing consumer and business relationships in the Somerville community. Lindsay is a dedicated volunteer for Community Cooks and is passionate about local growth and development.
John R. Wiseman
14wisemanJohn is President and Chief Executive Officer of Middlesex Federal Savings, a community bank headquartered in Somerville for more than 120 years. In addition to the corporate office in Davis Square, the Bank has offices in Teele Square and Medford Square. John is also a Director and member of the Bank’s Executive Committee. He graduated with a B.A. degree in Psychology from Wesleyan University and an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. John is the third generation of his family to be involved at Middlesex Federal Savings. His grandfather, John R. Wiseman Sr., was a loan officer for 18 years, and his father, John R. (“Jack”) Wiseman Jr., owned an insurance agency in Davis Square for more than 45 years and was a Director of the Bank for nearly 30 years. John had previously been a Vice President at Cummings Properties, one of the region’s most successful real estate development companies, for more than 15 years.
Heidi Yates
Heidi Yates is Commercial Loan Officer at Rockland Trust Company where she previously served as Portfolio Manager, Assistant Vice President, and Senior Commercial Credit Analyst.  Prior to Rockland Trust she was Performance Analyst at Babson Capital Management and Credit Analyst at First Pioneer Farm Credit.  Heidi earned a Bachelor of Science in Applied Economics and Management from Cornell University and an MBA from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
