Please join Chamber member employers to help steer new online jobs board.
Last summer a group of local businesses and non-profit service providers expressed a desire to more effectively notify Somerville residents of job opportunities and give Somerville residents priority in the hiring process. Following some initial discussions the City of Somerville began to explore the creation of a skills-based online jobs board, managed by City staff, to be used by local employers to post jobs and hire local employees. This past fall the City put out an RFP to receive proposals from vendors who could provide this service. Somerville economic development staff would like to invite you, as employers, to learn about this project, to hear about the potential benefits of a skills-based jobs board, and to receive your feedback on if such a service would be a useful tool in your recruitment and hiring processes. This meeting will be held in the Committee Room on the second floor of City Hall on Thursday, May 30th, at 9am. Please rsvp with Ben Sommer, Economic Development Specialist at bsommer@somervillema.gov
